Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) is a specialty of dentistry that focuses on the diagnosis, surgical treatment, and management of diseases and disorders of the face and jaws. Impacted wisdom teeth can cause painful swelling and difficulty in opening the mouth. Surgical removal of impacted tooth is done by maxillofacial surgeon. In some patients because of the severity of dentofacial deformties, orthodontic treatment alone may not be sufficient to achieve a satisfactory outcome. In such cases orthognathic surgery is a valuable option.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic Dentistry is concerned with the appearance of teeth and enhancement of one’s smile. Most think of tooth whitening or porcelain veneers, but a cosmetic dentist can provide much more.

  • Crowns & Bridges
  • Veneers
  • Hollywood smile
  • Laser/ Zoom Whitening
  • Smile designing

Endodontics

Endodontic treatment (Root Canal Treatment) is necessary when the pulp (soft tissue inside tooth) becomes inflamed or infected. The inflammation or infection can have a variety of causes: deep decay, repeated dental procedures on the tooth or a crack or chip in the tooth. In addition, a blow to a tooth may cause pulp damage even if the tooth has no visible chips or cracks. If pulp inflammation or infection is left untreated, it can cause pain or lead to an abscess. Signs of pulp damage include pain, prolonged sensitivity to heat or cold, discoloration of the tooth and swelling and tenderness in the nearby gums. Sometimes, there are no symptoms, but x-rays may indicate the presence of an infection.

Paediatric & Preventive Dentistry

Paediatric Dentistry is an age defined specialty that provides both primary and comprehensive preventive and therapeutic oral health care for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health care needs.

Fissure sealant

In cases of susceptibility to tooth decay, fissure sealing is often recommended. This painless procedure involves bonding a sealant material to form a complete protective barrier over natural deep grooves in the teeth.

Check-ups and cleaning

Your best protection against dental decay is daily brushing and flossing but regular checkups and a professional cleaning are also essential to maintaining optimum oral health. We will also provide instructions on diet, brushing and flossing techniques, the use of fluorides, and other aspects of dental care.

Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics

Orthodontics is the science of moving living teeth in living tissue- bringing irregular, improperly placed teeth back in to positions intended by nature as well as neuromuscular and skeletal abnormalities of the developing or mature oro-facial structures. Our Orthodontic department undertake correction of all dental and facial irregularities of Children and Adults.

Early treatment & interceptive Orthodontics

Each problem determines its own starting time. Early consultation allows to the Orthodontist to determine the optimum time for treatment to begin. In some cases satisfactory results are unattainable once the face and jaw have finished growing. Seven years is a good rule of thumb for a child unless one sees a noticeable problem earlier.

Myofunctional Appliances

Myofunctional appliances are used to correct dentofacial deformities at an early stage. Prompt diagnosis, timing of treatment and selection of appliance is vital for the early correction of maxilla facial irregularities.Various types of functional orthopaedic appliances can be used to attain early correction in children.

ADULT ORTODONTICS

More and more adults are contemplating and undertaking orthodontic treatment every day. For them just as for children better dental health and improved facial appearance are the resulting benefits. When considering orthodontic treatment the patient’s age is relatively unimportant. The tissues involved are the same, only more mature in the adult. What is important is the general health of the teeth and gums.

CLEAR ORTHODONTIC ALIGNERS

Clear orthodontic aligners can straighten a patient’s teeth without the wires and brackets of traditional braces. The aligners consist of a sequence of clear, removable trays that fit over the teeth to straighten them. Each tray must be worn by the patient for a specified amount of time usually around 20 hours a day for two weeks before the patient can progress to the next tray. In most situations, the aligners can straighten teeth in anywhere from six to 18 months.

CERAMIC BRACES

made of clear material, much less noticeable than traditional metal braces

LINGUAL ORTHODONTICS

Brackets attached to the back of the teeth to hold the wires that arrange the teeth in to new positions.

DAMON SYSTEM

The days of having braces tightened are over. The Damon System uses tie-less brackets that reduce the pressure on your teeth, allowing them to move more comfortably to their correct positions. This innovative approach to orthodontics ensured greater comfort throughout treatment.

DAMON CLEAR

Is part of the innovative Damon System, which uses a tie less slide mechanism that allows high technology wires to move freely through the bracket? This reduces friction and binding, allowing teeth to move quickly and comfortably.

IMPACTED TEETH

The most frequently impacted tooth in the anterior region is maxillary canine. But others can also be impacted. Treatment option with long term prognosis for the impacted tooth is to align them with orthodontic treatment as shown below.

Laser Dentistry

Dental lasers are a new tool in dentists office and it gives clinical advantages in various treatment procedures. Laser dentistry can be a precise and effective way to perform many dental procedures.

Advantages of Laser Dentistry

  • Damage to surrounding tissue is minimized
  • Wounds heal faster and tissues can be regenerated
  • Initial post operative discomfort and swelling are reduced
  • Good control of bleeding, there is greatly improved visualization of the surgical field
  • Many laser procedures can be performed with less injectable anesthesia
  • Procedures performed with soft tissue dental lasers may not require sutures(stitches)
  • Bacterial infections are minimized because the high- energy beam sterilizes the area

Soft Tissue Laser Dentistry Procedures
